Collecting black sand
This neodymium magnet is utilized for gathering black sand particles, and it effectively attracts magnetite and hematite. While hematite can be collected using neodymium magnets, it cannot be collected using any other type of magnet.
Glossary
Neodymium magnet - A very strong permanent magnet made from neodymium alloy. Used for collecting magnetic minerals.
Black sand particles - Heavy, dark sand grains from eroded rock, often containing iron oxides.
Magnetite - Fe3O4. A strongly magnetic iron oxide mineral, black and naturally magnetic.
Hematite - Fe2O3. A weakly magnetic / paramagnetic iron oxide mineral, red-brown to black. Attracted by strong magnets like neodymium.
